of the Region

The Talbot Provedore and Eatery is located in the picturesque Central Goldfields town of Talbot in Victoria.

We are passionate about supporting local producers and showcasing both their food and wine in the Provedore and on the Eatery menus.

Join us for breakfast, lunch , coffee & cake or our Saturday evening dinners. Drop in to browse the provedore and pick up a selection of local produce including milk, eggs, cheese, local meats, fresh vegetables, coffee beans, jams, chutneys, crackers, olives, capers, oils and more.

All day breakfast served every day, made with local Creswick Open Range eggs, freshly baked sourdough by Basilio Bakery in Ballarat, or try our porridge made with Burrum Biodynamic oats! 

Lunch & Dinner

Delicious meals made from regionally sourced ingredients. 

Lunch is served all day, every day. 

Dinner is offered every Saturday evening. 

Locally roasted Coffee

Rich, dark and creamy coffee made with freshly ground, fair trade Enga Coffee beans which are roasted in Ballarat, and Inglenook Dairy milk from Dunnstown near Ballarat. 

Provedore

We love showcasing our regional food producers!

Discover locally grown olives, oats and french green lentils, freshly roasted coffee beans, jars of jams, chutney and preserved fruits in classic Fowlers Vacola jars. Sauces, pasta, vinegar, black garlic, salts, balsamic and drinking chocolates.  Plus, everyday staples including sourdough bread, cheese, smallgoods and open range eggs. 

Regional Wine Store

Showcasing Wine, beer and cider sourced from regions within 100km from Talbot – admittedly this leaves us pretty spoilt for choice! The Pyrenees is on our doorstep, Macedon Ranges, Heathcote and Bendigo just up the road, Grampians to the west and the unofficial wine region of Ballarat only a stone’s throw away.

Experience a degustation dinner of seven courses showcasing regional produce, matched with sensational wines poured by viticulturist John Monteath and Claire Hull of Killiecrankie Wines.

Killiecrankie Wines is the venture of John Monteath and Claire Hull.

A viticulturist with over 20 years’ experience, John has and is currently working with some of the pre-eminent vineyards in the Bendigo and Heathcote wine regions.

Grapes are sourced from a limited number of meticulously tended vineyards in the Bendigo and Heathcote wine regions.

The wines are made in the true garagiste style with hand plunged ferments, basket pressing and minimal intervention. The resultant wines are elegantly proportioned with fine texture and balance.
